Kitchen Pendant Lighting Reinforces Minimal Aesthetic in Austin Home

Posted on 11/14/18 10:35 AM

Designed by Ames Design Build and Vanguard Studio Inc, this Austin home is as unique as it is beautiful and functional. The architecture of this project set the tone for the look and feel of the overall space. With strong lines and a masculine ambiance that were influenced by the client, the architectural work created opportunities for intentional design choices to further accentuate these key elements. The seamless implementation of architecture and design in this Valetta Contemporary home made room for Niche's hand-blown glass pendant lights, and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome.

Hawaiian Restaurant Uses Vibrant Pendant Lights in Playful Atmosphere

Posted on 11/6/18 11:35 AM

Developed by Handcrafted Restaurants, the same company that created Monkeypod KitchenMoku Kitchen utilizes ingredients from local farmers to make fresh food. The ingredients are sourced as far upcountry as the mountains all the way down to the ocean shores, making this restaurant's motto "Upcountry Downtown" incredibly fitting. Award-winning chef Peter Merriman's dishes are best served alongside a craft beer or a glass of sustainable wine, and best shared with family and friends.

Color of the Month: Chocolate

Posted on 11/2/18 2:45 PM

We're approaching the end of the year, which means we only have two more colors left to share. This month's color trend is Chocolate, a rich, earthy tone that brings warmth to any environment. This color, whether accented in textiles, furniture, or of course, pendant lighting, is helping to define the design world we are immersed in on a daily basis.

Hand-Crafted Chandelier Featured in Designer Jay Jeffers' Newest Book

Posted on 10/26/18 3:05 PM

Designed by Jay Jeffers, this stunning mountain property in Tuckee, California is the perfect weekend retreat for a promising family. This 7,000-square-feet custom home is a beautiful representation of the shifting style Jeffers and his clients prefer - a style that is both bold and livable. The risks taken by this seasoned interior designer have proved to be fruitful, and the completed home - which boasts expansive views of Martis Valley and Northstar Ski Resorts Lookout Mountain - is a feat worth recognizing.

Thankfully for all of us, it is forever being recognized in Jay Jeffers' latest collection, Be Bold: Bespoke Modern Interiors. This project is one of 14 new designs represented in the book's pages. In this book, Jeffers says: "Readers can expect a display of luxurious, yet livable designs that exude soul and playfulness. Each of the 14 projects tells a story. We wanted to encourage readers to explore unexpected color combinations and vibrant patterns alongside carefully curated combinations of custom, contemporary and antique pieces that make for exquisite statement pieces. While each project tells a story unique to the client, the common theme is that you truly can have the best of both worlds, bold design and structured sensibility."

Niche is pleased to have one of our products featured in this home and book. A Quill 5 Modern Chandelier with Gray Aurora glass hangs above the dining room table. The richness of our Gray glass complements the dark tones featured throughout the space, especially the ebonized oak wall paneling. The chandelier's angular frame mimic the home's modern architecture, with rich lines and butterfly roof angles that inspired the overall look and feel of the space.

We'd like to personally thank Jay Jeffers for using Niche's hand-crafted glass in this project and for featuring it in his latest book. You can purchase a signed copy of Be Bold here.

Niche to Showcase New Pendants at High Point Market this Month

Posted on 10/9/18 8:03 PM

High Point Market is a bi-annual showcase that takes place in the rural setting of High Point, North Carolina. One of the largest furnishings industry trade shows in the world, the event brings more than 75,000 design-enthusiasts to the area to find the latest trends in home fashion. Niche is excited to showcase a few of our newest pendant lights at High Point this fall.

If you have been following Niche this year, you know we launched two new pendant styles: the Haze and the Marquise. The Haze pendant features a unique gradient effect that flows from Opaline to transparent Crystal glass, making for a versatile and elegant light. The Marquise Series is comprised of three pendant sizes: Marquise Grand, Marquise, and Marquise Petite. We will have various glass colors and treatments on display to promote the full range of our product line and glass-blowing abilities.

Niche is excited to partner with two incredibly talented furniture companies: Miles & May and Skram Furniture. We have seen first-hand how these companies support similar values to Niche and truly cherish the thought of creating unique, handmade pieces. If you aren't familiar with either of these creators, Miles & May designs furniture that is fundamentally sustainable (pieces of enduring quality that one generation can pass down to the next) while Skram Furniture fabricates modern furnishings for residential, commercial, and hospitality markets. We know our pendant lights will shine above their stunning creations.

You can find Niche, Miles & May, and Skram Furniture in the outlying showroom Mill Collective, which features a curated set of brands that are crafting innovative designs. For more information, including directions, to the Mill Collective in the Point Seven Building, click here.
