Cord Sets FAQ

If your question is not listed below or in any of the other categories, please try the SEARCH box at the top of the site with a few keywords relating to your question and most likely you can find something similar in the search results.

Are the lights sold with cord sets?

Yes. Each of our pendants comes with all the necessary hardware for installation: cord set, ceiling canopy and bulb. We always strongly advise that a qualified electrician familiar with local regulations and electrical codes install the light(s).

Our standard cord length is 4’. The cords can be cut on site and we can customize longer lengths as well, though this customization is an additional charge and can add to the lead time for a fixture.

What is a cord set?

The cord set is composed of the electrical socket and electrical cable.

The electrical socket securely holds the glass fixture and is also where the bulb is screwed into.

At the ceiling, the cord will attach to either a ceiling canopy or a track connector. Our standard cord sets are not wired for track connectors. Track connectors are available for an additional charge. (Please see the FAQ section on TRACKS)

How long is the cord set?

Our standard cord set comes in 4 foot length. The cord can be cut to any length shorter than 4 feet on the job site.

Longer cord sets are available by custom order. If the 4' cord set is not long enough for your installation, usually an 8' cord set will suffice.

Longer cord sets are available as accessory items.

What color is the cord set?

Our standard cord sets are black. We find black to be the least obtrusive color as it blends into the background.

What length of cord set do I need?

This varies depending on several factors:

* Your Ceiling Height
* Will the fixture hang over a table or bar?

Measure from the top of the ceiling to the bottom of where you would like the glass to stop, and then subtract the height of the actual glass itself (fixture dimensions are listed on each Product page or in the PDF spec sheets).
The remaining value is the length of the cord you will need.

If this number is 48" or less, then the standard cord set will work.
If this number is greater than 48" then you will need a custom cord set.

Please call or email us with this information. The length doesn't have to be an exact measurement as you can always trim the cord on site during installation.
Just make sure to order the cord longer than you will need it.
