Bathroom Pendant Light Adds a Modern Touch to an Industrial-Inspired Home

a+i is a New York City-based architecture firm focused on making spaces for clients that are "unique, appropriate, thought-provoking, and a joy to inhabit."

The Worth family residence project was nothing short of their description. This beautiful building actually used to be two buildings, hence the large, open spaces and high ceilings. The architecture firm wanted to utilize the components of the original structure as much as possible, so they kept existing arches (pictured below), wooden ceiling beams, and skylights intact.

Texture plays a big roll inside the Worth residence. Keeping the existing arches also meant leaving the brick exposed. Sliding metal doors (pictured below) in other rooms add a sleeker finish, while still maintaining the industrial look and feel. In the bathroom, a custom pebbled wall adds another unique texture and makes a notable backdrop for a bathroom pendant light, Niche's Pod pendant.

Care was taken to preserve the building's history as a manufacturing warehouse and artist's lofts. Niche's handmade Pod modern pendant light is an excellent representation of the building's past.
