Discover the essence of Pacific Northwest living at the Timberidge Residence, where sustainable architecture meets regional harmony through innovative design, locally sourced materials, and bespoke craftsmanship, illuminated by Niche's handmade glass pendant lighting.
Nestled in the serene landscape of the Pacific Northwest, lies the Timberidge Residence. This home, designed by 2fORM Architecture, was accomplished with innovative solutions celebrating natural materials and local resources. From unique timber connections to steel-and-glass entry doors, translucent-film paneled doors, and bespoke built-in furniture & casework - this home exudes thoughtful design that seamlessly integrates with its regional context.
Timberidge harmoniously blends into its surroundings by incorporating materials sourced directly from the site. A notable feature of the residence is its use of timber milled from fallen trees collected from the property. Using on-site timber reduced environmental impact and imbued the project with a unique narrative rooted in sustainability and local craftsmanship.
In addition to timber, moss found abundantly on the property was creatively integrated into the landscaping design. Sections of the pool house roof were adorned with carefully preserved moss, creating a striking contrast against the modern architectural elements. This conscious pairing of raw materials with modern aesthetics positions the single-family retreat amidst a forested landscape, affording panoramic views of the Cascade Mountain range.
Regarding lighting within the Timberidge home, 2fORM chose an eclectic array of our handmade glass pendant lights. In the open dining area, there are eight glass pendant lights, featuring different pendant styles and glass colors. We broke down this crafted lighting recipe:
|
Two Effervescent Solitaire Pendant Lights grace each side of the installation, with an Effervescent Minaret Pendant Light in the center. This glass selection brings visual texture to the assortment due to the bubbles created during the glass process. Next to each Solitaire hangs an Oculo Pendant, one in Smoke, and one in Gray. Added to the mix are an Amber Turret Pendant, a Smoke Pharos Pendant, and an Amber Bella Pendant. The varying shapes, colors, and textures, paired with our various incandescent filament bulbs create a stunning centerpiece for this dining room. The warm glass colors chosen by 2fORM create a color pallet that beautifully complements the repurposed timber in the home.

For an added bonus, two Opaline Pharos Pendant Lights hang in the bathroom. Unlike the lighting selected for the dining room that showcased transparent glass, these two Pharos pendants give off a warm glow with their milky-white opaque glass. We love to see such a broad spectrum of our handmade glass lighting used in the Timberidge residence!
The Timberidge residence, designed by 2fORM Architecture, exudes thoughtful design, regional harmony, sustainability, and the interplay of light and space. Whether basking in the glow of Niche’s glass pendant lighting or admiring the timber-framed architecture, this residence embodies the essence of the Pacific Northwest.
