We were so excited when Grace Bonney of the lovely Design Sponge blog told us about her first book publication and invited us to contribute images of our loft construction. After more than a year of hard work Grace finished her book: Design Sponge at Home and Niche Modern is featured at the very end with images of our 2008 massive renovation of the 19th century loft we now call home (for our family and offices) in Beacon New York. We are very happy for Grace, honored to be included and wish all of our friends at Design Sponge much continued success!

In a Glam.com blog post this month, our Spark Modern Chandelier was graciously featured for it’s funkiness and versatility while maintaining “a romantic and dramatic effect.”
We agree… Cheers, Glam!

Designer Pendant Lamps in Detail
Our Oculo pendant’s shape can offer a happy medium between choosing a rounded or more angular style, and features a vintage-inspired filament bulb.
The Solitaire orb lamp, as featured here with our Sola 36 modern chandelier, is a timeless classic whether hung from the architectural metal ring, or by its lonesome as a single pendant.
More on your mind? The Pack 9 multi-fixture canopy cozies up to our Pharos fixtures in three separate bouquets. Each lamp hangs from a different source, allowing you to customize the drop length of each one.
Yellowtrace Blog has featured a Niche Modern Chandelier in their Category Archives of 2010, among furniture, accessory, product designers, lighting manufacturers, and interior designers, architects, illustrators, photographers, and graphic designers. MANY THANKS, YELLOWTRACE!
The Stylepark team, of Frankfurt, Germany, has been kind enough to include us in their curated design database. Check out our collection there or just venture over to our own site here.
Niche Modern Pack 9 chandelier in the Made in Beacon book
We’re delighted to join several local artisans and manufacturers in a new collaborative partnership. Randall Martin, a local graphic designer, has been behind the scenes, crafting this booklet for your viewing pleasure. It speaks for itself, a book of working artisans, living and working in Beacon, and you can view it here, or order your own copy to keep at home! It’s a great pleasure, and deep comfort, to live in Beacon, discovering its roots in hard work and creativity, again, and to work among these local leaders in Beacon’s momentum forward as a design capital north of New York City, in the Hudson River Valley.
Featured in the book are: Mod-Craft – local ceramic tile maker Wickham – local woodworker Atlas Industries – local modular furniture and shelving manufacturer Architectural Glass – local architectural glass manufacturer Niche Modern – yours truly, local blown glass pendants and modern chandeliers manufacturers

Oh Plum, how do I love thee, let me count the ways . . .
We were very excited this week when we discovered that our Plum Solitaire pendant is gracing the cover of Residential Lighting’s August 2010 issue. It is very fitting, seeing how our video postings this week have been in a plum state of mind… check them out on YouTube or Facebook . . . or go find yourself a copy of the magazine to see it up close!! Have a great weekend!!
