We hope to see you at our Spring Factory Sale, this weekend, June 13th and 14th! It is also Beacon's Second Saturday when galleries, boutiques, and restaurants stay open late! What else is happening on Saturday? Here are some other events you won't want to miss!
Beginning at 2pm, contemporary art museum Dia:Beacon will host a gallery talk with art & architecture historian, Taylor Walsh. The talk is free with museum admission and no reservation is required. Walsh will discuss work by multi-media artist, Bruce Nauman, who's work is on long-term view at the museum. For more information, click here.
Don't let the name fool you, Dogwood Bar & Restaurant isn't just for the pups. At 10pm, Dogwood is hosting a karaoke night to benefit Mid-Hudson Animal Aid. Donations will be accepted at the door, and MHAA will have merchandise for sale. All proceeds will go towards food and vet care for the shelter's cats. Learn more about Mid-Hudson Animal Aid here and come out and sing a tune for a great cause!
Join Colorant in collaboration with Beacon Mills Dyeworks for a hands-on indigo-dyeing event! Indigo dye comes from an ancient plant that creates nature's deepest blue. Today, most indigo dye you see is made synthetically, but this workshop will give you the chance to use the naturally-made dye. For $15 per person, the evening (4-8pm) workshop includes two dips, tools, demos and tutorials. Find out more about where to go and what to bring.
Now in its third year, Beacon 3D is an annual outdoor public art event running from the spring through the fall. Along Main Street, 20 artists have each created and exhibited a sculpture as part of this installation. Beacon 3D aims to enhance the community’s access and enjoyment of art in a free, long-term installation, and to highlight the work of a diverse range of artists. The official opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 2-Way Brewing Company at 2pm with Mayor Randy Casale. Check out the Beacon3D website to see where all the sculptures are located.
Marion Royael Gallery, 159 Main Street - Relax Carnival Royael, 6-10pm
