Beacon, New York Welcomes New Businesses

In recent years, many Hudson Valley towns have experienced a renaissance of new businesses and organizations. Beacon has most definitely been at the forefront of the business boom. Here are five new Beacon businesses you don't want to miss!

Harry's Hot Sandwiches - 449 Main Street

No-frills and unpretentious, Harry's Hot Sandwiches delivers a chill, retro ambiance without overdoing it. The checkerboard floor and menu scrolls on butcher paper are welcoming and simple. Sandwiches combine the best of both worlds - traditional favorites with some extra pizazz, like the Cubano (pictured) with roast pork, ham, pickles, cheese, mustard, and habaƱero mayo.

Audioccult Records & Oddities - 267 Main Street

"Not your dad's record store, not your grandma's antique store" is the perfect tagline for this quirky, amusing record shop. Inside you'll find both oldies and new releases, spanning genres of rock, punk, metal, jazz, blues, electronica, folk, world beats, and more. Upon visiting, you've also stumbled into a freak show - a variety of horror and 80's pop culture memorabilia, taxidermy, and skulls line the shelves. Be sure to ask the owner about the cyclops pig in a jar, too.

Kitchen Sink - 157 Main Street

Thoughtful preparation and presentation combined with unique farm-to-table dishes will leave you feeling satisfied and not overstuffed at Kitchen Sink. The intimate setting and fresh ingredients will have you coming back for more...cornbread. One of our own Nichelings confirms that the cornbread is indeed, really good.

Flora Garden & Home - 197 Main Street

Step into the jungle right on Main Street! Flora Garden & Home's inner green glow of luscious foliage can practically be seen from the other end of town. This new flower and garden shop has plants of all shapes and sizes, supplies, and natural products for the home garden, as well as fresh cut flowers and vintage gifts.

The Vault - 446 Main Street

A new tapas and spirits bar is here to bring more local Hudson Valley produce, meats, and cheeses to the table. The Vault also offers small-batch spirits, hand-crafted soda, fine wines, and craft beer. If you're still hungry when most bars stop serving food, The Vault has a special late night menu for the late - or early - hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
