Here is a great example of how versatile Niche Modern’s pendants can be and how effectively the Amber color choice can bring warmth and tie a room together. This house is a new construction in Lake Michigan about 75 miles from Chicago. The design was inspired by the original 1906 home on the property, which was in severe disrepair and unsalvageable. As the designer for the project remarked, the home beautifully embodies an Arts-and-Crafts meets Mid-Century-Modern design. Niche Modern’s Pharos and Stamen pendants in Amber were one of the very first choices the designer made for these rooms. RoomTEN, the design group for the project, worked hard to make eco-conscious choices for the house: locally built millwork, furniture and American made fixtures throughout the house. We love being included in such personal, gratifying achievements of architecture and design. Many thanks roomTEN!
A Stamen Light in the Powder Room of the Lakeside Residence
Desiron welcomed Niche Modern into their super sexy showroom in SoHo a few years ago and we were very flattered when founder Frank Carfaro requested a Stamen pendant in Smoke for his kitchen. We absolutely love the way his apartment renovation turned out and were excited when a friend of Niche pointed out this article last week showcasing his home in the New York Times. Enjoy!

A 525-square-foot walk-up in Greenwich Village made to feel like a luxury hotel.
We heard the truck rumbling around the bend and Jeremy went to grab the forklift in a hurry. The last of the equipment for our glass studio came yesterday and today the crew is already hard at work getting it connected. John Chiles from Hub Consolidated built our equipment over the summer and he is down from Vermont today to help us get it up and running.
Hardware including Annealers, and a Glory Hole are the final piece of the puzzle
You’re in the nation’s capital district scouting out inspiring design. Maybe you’re looking on the National Mall, designed by Pierre Charles L’Enfant. You pass by the Smithsonian Museum of the Native American by George Gustav Heye, the Vietnam Memorial by Maya Lin, or the Ellipse in front of the White House. But architecture is not something you can bring home, despite how much you may want to.
On goes the hunt for more useful objects of design. A unique cocktail table, a Herman Miller chair, or bench for your front foyer. If you traveled up 14th Street, past Logan Circle Park, and the famous Black Cat, you would soon find all of these things, including a handful of our blown glass pendant lights, at Vastu, Contemporary Furniture Store. Vastu was founded by Jason Claire and Eric Kole in 2002 with the intention of selling unique, original, and high quality products from around the world. Claire and Kole also consult with customers about designing their spaces to their truest potentials.
Vastu featured us in their Design Clique blog recently, and so we thought we’d share with you how special they are to us. Pay them a visit next time you’re in Washington, or click through their home page image below to get a better sense of what they have to offer. Go with good design!

Determining where to hang your pendant lights isn’t only a matter of specifying the best height or drop length; one of the first steps is envisioning which fixture best complements your personal space.
Take the Pharos – it’s slender silhouette makes a striking border along a lounge area or bar, and easily invites other fixtures to be grouped alongside. Each pendant’s cord set can be customized to hang at varied lengths, with the potential to create an eye-catching clustered effect.
Our Linear Canopy line allows as few as two or as many as five glass pendants to be installed with a single junction box. Choose the lower glow of the Minaret pendants, shown with the Linear 2, to create an intimate mood in your dining room.
At home above your kitchen peninsula, pendants with higher wattages can illuminate a chef’s workspace or simply make that plate of leftovers more inviting.
Admired for its simplistic style and fully customizable design, the five arm Sola 36 with Solitaire glass can satisfy a need for practical lighting in a larger living space or offer an updated take on the classical elegance of a ballroom.
There is no limitation, but your scope of creative vision.

Creative lighting design should not only help set the mood in a space but reflect the personal style of the individual. Our modern glass pendants are hand-blown in an array of colors, ranging from a deep Chocolate, as shown with the eye-catching outline of the Oculo, to a jewel-toned Sapphire, complementing the curves of the Aurora.
Each pendant’s hand blown silhouette is a unique take on modern design, allowing limitless innovative options to customize your interior.
