Crimson Solitaire Pendants in Phoenix Home & Garden Magazine

You can’t imagine how positively tickled Charlotte was when she opened one of her past copies of Phoenix Home and Garden and randomly landed on this stunning spread of Niche Modern’s Solitaire pendants in Crimson. Not just tickled by the drop dead beauty factor of this environment but also because our founder and creative director Jeremy is her son! And she’s been a proud supporter of Niche since the very beginning. So this was a double pleasure.

The kitchen in this 1957 Phoenix ranch underwent a big renovation and we love the way the warm spirit of the place was clearly left in tact while some very modern influences were seamlessly tied into the equation. Crimson is a real show stopper. Thanks to momma Charlotte for bringing to our attention back in New York!

Pharos and Stamen Pendants in Residence on Lake Michigan

Here is a great example of how versatile Niche Modern’s pendants can be and how effectively the Amber color choice can bring warmth and tie a room together. This house is a new construction in Lake Michigan about 75 miles from Chicago. The design was inspired by the original 1906 home on the property, which was in severe disrepair and unsalvageable. As the designer for the project remarked, the home beautifully embodies an Arts-and-Crafts meets Mid-Century-Modern design. Niche Modern’s Pharos and Stamen pendants in Amber were one of the very first choices the designer made for these rooms. RoomTEN, the design group for the project, worked hard to make eco-conscious choices for the house: locally built millwork, furniture and American made fixtures throughout the house. We love being included in such personal, gratifying achievements of architecture and design. Many thanks roomTEN!

Stamen Light featured in Frank Carfaro’s Greenwich Village Home

Desiron welcomed Niche Modern into their super sexy showroom in SoHo a few years ago and we were very flattered when founder Frank Carfaro requested a Stamen pendant in Smoke for his kitchen. We absolutely love the way his apartment renovation turned out and were excited when a friend of Niche pointed out this article last week showcasing his home in the New York Times. Enjoy!

Niche Modern Surpasses 20,000 Facebook Fans

Our Facebook Fan Page is now over 20000 strong!!!

Our Facebook Fan Page is now over 20000 strong!!!

Last year we began to look at Facebook as a means of reaching out to you all, specifically when we couldn’t interact with you directly as we like to do most often. Earlier this week we crossed the 20,000 Facebook fan threshold into super stardom, but more importantly, toward a deeper community. Having you all with us is starting to feel like we’re embedded within a city of our own filled with people who all think alike about lighting and its importance in the world of design, architecture and art.

Thank you all for hopping aboard the train on this journey that we’ve chosen to embark on. We honestly couldn’t do it without you, foremost. Please, share your thoughts and remarks with us here or on Facebook. And stay tuned for an eventful 2012. We love you all!

Niche Modern Featured in New Design Sponge Book!

We were so excited when Grace Bonney of the lovely Design Sponge blog told us about her first book publication and invited us to contribute images of our loft construction. After more than a year of hard work Grace finished her book: Design Sponge at Home and Niche Modern is featured at the very end with images of our 2008 massive renovation of the 19th century loft we now call home (for our family and offices) in Beacon New York. We are very happy for Grace, honored to be included and wish all of our friends at Design Sponge much continued success!

A Niche Modern Poll – What’s Your Favorite Light?

We picked the Stamen as our giveaway pendant because it was the pendant that inspired the rest of the line 8 years ago. But we were just wondering: what’s YOUR favorite Niche Modern pendant design? Chime in!

The Calm Before the Sample Sale Storm at Niche Modern!

Last weekend was our Sample Sale! This shot was taken just moments before the madness started! We had a blast meeting our Niche fans new and old. It was a lot of work setting up but well worth it. This was our first time, after a year of construction, inhabiting the new warehouse space which is adjacent to the glass studio. It was a thrill! We are hoping to keep a permanent display of our “seconds” on hand up here in Beacon so folks can come see us in person and grab a bargain any old time. Stay tuned for more on that.

The Rest of the Equipment Arrives at the Niche Modern Glass Studio!

We heard the truck rumbling around the bend and Jeremy went to grab the forklift in a hurry. The last of the equipment for our glass studio came yesterday and today the crew is already hard at work getting it connected. John Chiles from Hub Consolidated built our equipment over the summer and he is down from Vermont today to help us get it up and running.
