Niche x DIA Beacon

Niche x Dia Panorama

This past week we thought we'd get out of the office and glass factory and head over to our neighbors Dia Beacon for a company-wide field trip. Led by Yasmil Raymond, the curator herself, we walked and talked through Dia’s newest exhibition, a retrospective of minimalist artist Carl Andre. The show spans over a period of five decades, first dating back to the late 50s and even including works from 2010. Emphasizing Andre’s various artistic abilities, the exhibition has approximately 50 sculptures as well as 200 poems. First unveiled as a collection at Dia in May of 2014, the show is slated to travel to Madrid, Berlin, and Paris. As Carl Andre once said, “My art springs from my desire to have things in the world which would otherwise never be there.” Be sure to check out the show, it will be at Dia:Beacon until March 2015.
