Meet Samantha, a Marketing Assistant at Niche! Read her employee spotlight to learn more about her role at Niche and what she enjoys doing in her spare time.

What drew you to Niche?

My wonderful friend Katie introduced me to Niche. She worked in Marketing for two years, taking many of the photos you see on our website. I love the idea of a small company like Niche creating all of their products by hand under one roof. I am also grateful that I have the opportunity to work in a creative environment every day. It feels so intimate and special to be a part of this team. I'm always inspired by the people I work with on a daily basis. 

What is your role at Niche and what does your day to day routine consist of?

My day-to-day tasks start with writing blog posts for Niche — make sure you subscribe! From FAQ blogs to featured lighting projects to recent press coverage, I bring our followers a range of content regarding modern pendant lighting. I also manage our various social media pages, which we update several times a day with relevant information and behind-the-scenes footage of what happens in our Beacon, New York studio. It is truly a pleasure to come to work every day knowing that I get to work with my two talented team members, Jess and Britney. 

What is your favorite Niche pendant shape and color combination? Why?

I change my mind so often. Lately I really love the simplicity of the Solitaire pendant. I also love clusters of Pointelle pendants. The pairing of different hues and textures is absolutely stunning. Of all the beautiful glass colors, I'm always drawn to our Amber colored glass. It brings a beautiful warmth to spaces. 

What’s your favorite spot in Beacon or the Hudson Valley? Why?

My first introduction to the Hudson Valley was New Paltz, where I went to college. I instantly fell in love with the community, which focuses so much on creativity and the arts. Plus, no matter where you are, you always have an incredible view of the mountains. Beacon has a very similar vibe, which makes working and living here the best. I love exploring hiking trails whenever I have a spare minute. Breakneck Ridge is my favorite in the area. 

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

So much! I love spending time with my friends, family, and animals, exploring the outdoors, going to concerts, reading and writing, and eating my body weight in burritos.
