In Hospitality Design magazine’s Products Profile, writer Jana Schiowitz pieces together the story of Niche Modern so far. The article features founders Mary Welch and Jeremy Pyles and focuses on the beginnings of the company and how it all started as an experiment, for lack of a better word. Also included is a great image drawn by young Max Pyles, son of Jeremy and Mary, of his take on Niche Modern lights, and one of Jeremy’s photographs revealing an early attraction to the subject of light. Check out our About Us page for more on the story of Niche Modern. Or pick up a copy of Hospitality Design, before the month of June is over, to read what Jana had to say! We’re delighted to be featured among the many other designers and projects featured in the HD Awards covered in the same issue.

Apartment Therapy recently featured our hand blown glass pendants in an exclusive on a few of Interior Designer Jessica Helgerson’s kitchen projects. Her eye for design is extremely impressive and becomes more apparent at every opportunity to view her work. We think the Minaret pendants were an excellent fit for the bright and expansive kitchen area, especially against the beautiful stained wood floors. Fascinating work, Jessica!

Tempting Spaces
Westchester Health & Life Magazine, a publication of the Westchester Medical Center, published an article titled “Tempting Spaces,” spotlighting three restaurants that serve as eye candy in addition to their genuine culinary fare. Among the three Westchester dining establishments is BLT Steak in White Plains, located in the lower level of the Ritz-Carlton. Designer Michael Bagley, of New York-based Michael Bagley Design and a return designer of the BLT Steak line, selected our Aurora pendant lights in smoke for a portion of the dining room. With regard to dining room lighting, subtlety is key in creating a mood for guests to enjoy. We are delighted to see how our modern pendant lights have slipped their way into Michael’s arrangement!
